  In plain English: Logan Tod is a small, fully remote healthcare consultancy, so our carbon footprint is very low. This plan sets out our commitment to reach Net Zero by 2050, the emissions we produce, and how we keep them low.

1. Our Commitment to Net Zero

Logan Tod & Company Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions across our UK operations by 2050, in line with the UK Government's Net Zero target and Procurement Policy Note 06/21.

2. Our Emissions

As a two-person, fully remote organisation with no owned or leased premises and no owned vehicles, our footprint is inherently very low and consists almost entirely of business travel. We report a 2023 baseline year and our current reporting year (2026).

Our total emissions have fallen by approximately 73% between the baseline and current year as business travel reduced.

3. How We Calculate Our Emissions

Our only material source of emissions is business travel, almost entirely by rail. Emissions are estimated using the UK Government's greenhouse gas conversion factors and reported in line with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and the Scope 3 categories required by PPN 06/21 (business travel; employee commuting; waste generated in operations; and upstream and downstream transportation and distribution). Because we operate fully remotely with no premises or owned vehicles, our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are zero, and our commuting, waste and transportation emissions are negligible. Baseline-year figures are good-faith estimates; from the current year onward we retain travel records to evidence reported figures.

4. Our Reduction Targets

Our objective is to reach Net Zero by 2050 and to keep absolute emissions low as we grow. We will hold Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions at zero by remaining a remote-first organisation, and minimise business travel — our only material source. As a very small organisation our emissions vary year to year with travel demand, so we monitor and report annually and set intensity-based reduction milestones as we scale.

5. Carbon Reduction Measures

Remote-first operating model — no office premises or commuting emissions by design.
Travel hierarchy — deliver remotely by default; where travel is essential, favour rail over car and air, and combine trips.
Low-carbon cloud hosting — use providers with recognised carbon-reduction / renewable-energy commitments, and keep usage efficient and right-sized.
Paperless, digital-first working.
Sustainable procurement — factor environmental performance into supplier selection.
Annual review of this plan and of our emissions, with measures updated as we grow.

6. Governance and Sign-off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and the associated Reporting Standard, covering the required Scope 1, Scope 2 and defined Scope 3 emissions. It is published on our website, approved at Director level, and reviewed annually.
